Heidi Trivelpiece, M.S.P.T.
Physical Therapist, Director of Outpatient Services
Heidi Trivelpiece, M.S.P.T., has been a Physical Therapist practitioner for nearly 20 years. As Director of Outpatient Services at Therapy Specialists, Heidi provides patient care in our Chula Vista clinic and oversees all clinical and operational aspects of our outpatient services in San Diego, Chula Vista and Lemon Grove.

During the course of her career she has worked with patients in a variety of clinical settings including:

  • Orthopedic clinics
  • Acute hospitals
  • Occupational health
  • Skilled nursing facilities

Norm Hardman, M.P.T.
Physical Therapist

Norm Hardman, M.P.T. graduated from the University of Pittsburg with a Master’s in Physical Therapy. For the past 12 years, Norm has incorporated many methodologies in treating his patients, beginning with a thorough evaluation to determine the underlying cause of the dysfunction or physical limitation. His manual therapy treatment approaches include: Soft tissue and joint mobilization, Stretching and Therapeutic exercise. He also incorporates the use of modalities, when appropriate.

Norm’s expertise includes, but is not limited to:

  • Shoulder, knee and extremity injuries

  • Orthopedic Surgeries: arthroscopy, total joint replacements, spinal fusions

Austin Palin, D.P.T.
Physical Therapist

Austin Palin, D.P.T. graduated from the University of St. Augustine with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His specialty is Outpatient Orthopedics and he also has an advanced certification in Graston Technique M1-Basic. Austin enjoys working with a wide variety of diagnoses and he is most passionate about helping his patients regain the parts of their life that are affected by illness or injury. In his therapy, Austin incorporates: Myofascial release and Graston Technique to improve soft tissue mobility and decrease pain and adhesions, Neurofacilitative techniques to improve strength and coordination, Joint mobilization to improve range of motion and decrease pain, Functional strengthening and movement patterns to improve posture and movement of the body.

Sarah Johnson graduated from California State University Northridge with a Masters of Physical Therapy. She is passionate about helping people reach their maximum potential and educating clients on how to have an active role in regaining their function and improving their quality of life. Sarah strongly believes in utilizing manual therapy, including soft tissue and joint mobilization with passive range of motion and manual stretching, to restore physiological movement. She has had much success incorporating strengthening and stabilization activities for hip and knee pain.

Sarah considers each patient and their lifestyle to achieve optimum results and return each individual to their prior level of function.

Katherine Gaskins received a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Towson University.

Katherine enjoys connecting with and engaging each client in a manner that supports their individual needs. She collaborates with her clients to develop a treatment plan focused on their goals and abilities and designs each treatment session to include activities that are personally motivating to her clients. Katherine has a special interest working with adults who have aphasia (difficulty speaking, listening, reading and writing), which is most often caused by stroke or damage to parts of the brain that control language. Katherine is certified to provide LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) a speech/voice treatment program designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

Lindsay Miller received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from San Diego State University. Lindsay’s approach with new patients includes a thorough evaluation focused on the source of the pain or injury, rather than just the symptoms. She believes being a good listener is critical to getting to the root of the issue, as well as creating an environment that is motivating and fun. She uses a combination of specialized techniques to help restore joint motion, tissue pliability, coordination
and stability.

Lindsay educates her clients by providing them with the knowledge and tools necessary to take charge of their rehab and be advocates for their overall health.
