At Therapy Specialists, our Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants work together to develop individualized programs for our patients that are outcome driven. Working together with Physical and Speech Therapists, our highly skilled teams evaluate the patient and determine customized treatment programs designed to improve the condition of our patients, prevent future disabilities and maximize the patient’s ability to actively participate in daily activities. Our therapists may recommend adaptive equipment, and if necessary customized splinting, thereby allowing functions that would otherwise be difficult or impossible for the patient on his or her own. Our comprehensive patient-centered approach includes one-on-one instruction with the patient’s family or caregiver, when needed.
PHYSICAL THERAPY
At Therapy Specialists, our Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants work together to develop individualized treatment programs that focus on optimizing the patient’s physical abilities. Whether the patient has fallen at work and is recovering from an injured back; has arthritis and is working on reducing pain and improving mobility; or has suffered a stroke and needs to -relearn such daily activities as eating, dressing or bathing—working together with our Occupational and Speech Therapists our team work closely with our patients to help them achieve their goals. In addition, our therapists teach the importance of fitness and educate our patients on how to avoid hurting their bodies in work and at play. Our comprehensive, patient-centered approach includes instruction for the patient’s family or caregiver so that the recovery process continues once the patient is out of the therapist’s direct care.
SPEECH THERAPY
At Therapy Specialists, our Speech Language Pathologists provide individualized treatment programs targeted to the specific needs of our patients. Whether the patient has difficulty expressing his or her needs, comprehending the communications of others, dealing with the effects of Alzheimer’s or has difficulty swallowing, our trained therapists develop treatment programs to help patients overcome these barriers . Our skilled speech therapists provide a comprehensive patient-centered approach that includes instruction for the patient’s family and/or caregiver.
HAND THERAPY
At Therapy Specialists, our Occupational and Physical Therapists work together for the rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity. Through the integration of the two disciplines, our team will design an individualized treatment program targeted to restore or improve function and relieve pain.
